Discover the story of Vincent van Gogh's Almond Blossom

Painted in 1890, Almond Blossom was created as a gift for the newborn son of Van Gogh's brother Theo. The flowering branches symbolize new life and hope. The work reflects Van Gogh's love of nature and is also inspired by Japanese art, especially in its composition and use of bold outlines. It is now on view at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.
