Painted in 1907–1908, The Kiss is one of Gustav Klimt’s most famous works. It expresses love and intimacy and belongs to his Golden Period.

Klimt used oil paint combined with gold leaf, inspired by Byzantine mosaics.

The painting can now be seen at the Belvedere Museum in Vienna.
