Discover the story about Leonardo Da Vinci's The Last Supper

The Last Supper was created between 1495 and 1498 in Milan, Italy.

Leonardo painted it for the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie, commissioned by Duke Ludovico Sforza.

It was made as a religious mural showing Jesus’ final meal with his disciples, capturing the moment he announces one will betray him.

The work was created using an experimental technique on dry plaster (tempera and oil on gesso), rather than traditional fresco, which unfortunately made it fragile over time.

Today, it is still located in the Santa Maria delle Grazie monastery in Milan, Italy.
